Seersucker and Seashells

June 7, 2016

One night a few weeks back a few of my good friends, Jenna and Jessica, and I went to the local beach to explore and get into the summer spirit. The wind was strong so we didn't stay for long, but it was so nice to be able to spend a little time enjoying the coastal views.

Hammonasset Beach State Park isn't far from my hometown, so it's a popular destination in the summer. Long Island Sound isn't the best water to swim in, but hey, sand is sand! While it was still far too chilly to go in the water, there was nothing holding us back from enjoying a sunset stroll along the shore.

My outfit for our little beach excursion was this pale pink, seersucker button-down by Ralph Lauren Polo. I threw on my new J. Crew skirt and Francesca's watch that I got on my trip to Kentucky. My shoes of choice were my "Jack Rogers" look-a-like sandals. I refuse to pay almost $120 for sandals, especially with how often sandals are worn and how easily they can be damaged or scuffed. I do love the style of Jack Roger's sandals, so when I found these Hotcakes Sunset brand sandals I scooped them up in two colors. I now for the past 2 years have bought both the white and the gold versions on sale for only $15.

The final touches to my nautical outfit were some sailboat earrings, my monogram necklace, and my favorite Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt for when the wind got a little too gusty. Here's to the first of many summer beach adventures!
