One of my favorite restaurants so far in Madrid, 100 Montaditos, is a chain restaurant that serves tapas style food including "montaditos" or sandwiches on tiny, (but delicious) baguettes. They are scattered across this beautiful city. On Lunes y Miercoles, (Monday and Wednesdays) they have deals for montaditos for only 1 euro each. In my first week here, my friends and I have gone at least three times! Here's what I munched on:
Tinto Verano (summer wine)
Montadito 01: Jamón reserva con aceite de oliva (ham and olive oil)
Montadito 12: Chistorra y pimiento verde (sausage and green peppers)
So nice I had it twice! These are amazing. They are Palomitas de queso gouda and they are served with a sweet strawberry jam that you dip them into. Basically, they are fried cheese balls and and I can't stop dreaming about them.
And again (lol) Montadito 01: Jamón reserva con aceite de oliva (ham and olive oil)
Montadito 30: Bacon crujiente con queso ibérico (different type of ham and cheese)
