Sorry for the corniest title in the world, but I couldn't resist. Paris was more than I could have ever imagined. On Friday, I flew into Beauvais–Tillé Airport close to Paris. I met up with some friends of mine, and hopped on a bus to Paris.
We spent the day walking around and exploring the city, 10 miles of walking in total!! We headed to the Arc de Triomphe to start, and snapped some pics while admiring its beauty. Then we wanted to go towards the Louvre, but grab some lunch along the way. We ended up stumbling across an adorable cafe on one of the side streets. From there we walked along the river to get to the Louvre.
The Louvre was amazing, I was awestruck by all of the history and beauty in all of the pieces inside. We were lucky enough to get free entry, since we are students studying in the European Union. The most important thing to me was that I would be able to see the Mona Lisa. I'd been looking forward to seeing the Mona Lisa in person since long before we had this trip booked. It's just as amazing as cool as I thought it would be, but much smaller than what I had pictured!
After exploring the museum we wanted to go find wifi somewhere to be able to find our other friends. (The one downside to traveling different countries is the difficulty of communication.) We ended up going to the Eiffel Tower for the first time instead, which I didn't have a problem with! The tower was my favorite part of the weekend. I could not believe it was finally right in front of me! After a while of enjoying the view, we found this delicious italian restaurant, where we met up with our other friends. When dinner was over, we went back to the tower to sit and drink some wine with the tower lit up. It was perfect, what's better than being with your friends in the most beautiful city in the world?
It was an eventful and exhausting day, so we finally took the train to the B&B Hotel, which is extremely close to Disney.
The next morning we woke up early for a free continental breakfast before taking the free, (my favorite word can you tell) shuttle to the park. There are two parks in Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park and Disneyland Park.
We spent the first half of our day at Walt Disney Studios and did some of the classic rides like the Rockin' Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. In the afternoon, we went to the main park which was decked out in halloween decor. I loved the castle!
We rode Space Mountain, 'It's a Small World', and Pirates of the Caribbean just to name a few. That night we saw the light and firework show, called Disney Dreams. I'm such a sucker for Disney's light and firework shows, my eyes get so big and I turn into a little kid again whenever I see them!
On our last day, we slept in and had a much-deserved late start to our day. We split up and Taylor and I headed to our Airbnb in Savigny-Sur-Orge. After riding the train for what seemed like days, we made it to the home we were staying in. It was a sweet French family with three kids. After we dropped off our bags, we went to Versailles to meet up with everyone else.
Versailles was massive, and so intricately detailed. We unfortunately didn't get to go see the gardens, which stinks, but it was still great to see the inside of the palace. Versailles was a great way to end this magical weekend!!
